Inside The Studio We:
Keep chatting to a minimum before and after class
We love when folks connect with each other! Simply enjoy your conversation in the lobby to allow folks space for peace and quiet inside of the practice room.
Keep it fresh and clean
Please be mindful of any strong scents you may carry with you as the hot room amplifies smells. Wear clean and laundered clothing. Wash off smoke, body odor, perfumes, colognes or essential oils before class begins.
Are mindful of sounds
Leave your cell phone with your belongings with your belongings outside of the practice room. Remove your smart watch or put it in theater mode, so it doesn’t make noise or light up during practice. We also encourage you to remove any jewelry that may be noisy as you begin to move. Life is full of distractions, but we try to keep them to a minimum in the hot room.
Are punctual
Our classes begin on time and we do not allow late entry. Give yourself time to relax on your mat before class and plan to stay until the end. If you need to leave early, give your teacher a heads up beforehand so they can support you in making a mindful exit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
-
To sign up for classes you’ll need an account with KarmaSoft, the class booking software we use. You can create your account here or click the login button in our navigation menu, then select “sign up” at the bottom. You will be prompted to read and electronically sign our waiver when creating your account. Please make sure to sign the waiver prior to coming to class to save time! If you’re under 18 you’ll need a signed waiver from a parent or guardian. Once you’ve created your account, simply choose a class from our schedule and follow the prompts to sign up.
-
We sure do! Our New Student Special includes 30 consecutive days of unlimited classes for only $49. This package is only available to new students and can be purchased through our Memberships page.
-
Most of our classes range from 95° to 105° with 40% humidity. Our weekly yin classes are not heated and most of our monthly pop-up classes are offered at a lower heat.
-
All of our classes are open to first timers. We recommend choosing a class that best fits with what style of movement you are looking for. If you’re looking to build a foundation in a hot yoga practice our Traditional Hot 90 is the best place to start as its slower than our 60 minute classes. If you’re interested in a more relaxing non-heated class, then start with Yin. If you’re looking for a fun upbeat class with great music, try out our Hot Pilates class.
Whether you roll out your mat next to someone just starting out or someone who has been practicing for years, we all go into the same room and do the same thing at the same time. There are no levels to any of our classes, all are welcome!
-
The key differences are the pace and number of times we do each posture. If you are newer to hot yoga we recommend attending a 90 minute class first as it moves at a slower pace and we do each posture twice. This allows for more guidance on alignment, gives you time to observe and take breaks without feeling like you are missing postures. Our 60 minute class moves faster and some postures we do only once.
Before Class
-
Yes! We highly recommend signing up for class beforehand through Karmasoft. Class sizes are limited and they fill up quickly, so signing up early ensures you have a spot in class.
If you can no longer attend class, you need to cancel your registration at least 4 hours prior to the start time in order to avoid our No-Show Fee. Other yogis would love a space in class, so please don’t block it if you know you can’t make it!
-
A yoga mat and a large towel to cover your mat are required for every heated class in our studio. We recommend bringing an extra towel if you are a heavy sweater.
A water bottle. No glass bottles allowed due to breakage.
Forget some of the essentials? Don’t worry! Shower towels and rubber mats are available to rent for $2 each as well as towel mats for $4. Water and yoga mats are available for purchase as well. You can also find hair dryers and basic toiletries available for your use in the locker room.
-
If you’re attending a Traditional Hot or Pilates class, then we recommend wearing the least amount of clothing you feel comfortable sweating in. As you begin to sweat your clothes get heavier and can hang off of you in a way that feels uncomfortable during practice, so we recommend wearing fitted clothing that feels comfortable for you.
We do not recommend socks during practice and shoes are not allowed past the entry ways of the studio or in the yoga room.
-
The best time to hydrate is before class so your body is prepared for practice. Try not to eat any big meals within an hour or two of class. It's best to have your food digested before you arrive so you’re not uncomfortable during practice.
Upon Arrival
-
We recommend arriving fifteen minutes before your first class, so you have time to check in and get acclimated to the heat. We encourage you to pre-register online to save time and your spot in class.
Our lobby opens fifteen minutes before class and will close promptly at class start time.
-
We cannot accept late entry. In most instances our teachers are also managing the studio sign in, which means they will lock the front and back door at the class start time. Please be aware of this policy and plan accordingly.
-
Parking is free both behind and in front of the building. Rear parking is labeled as private for our business. You are welcome to enter through the rear or front door when you arrive.
-
Masks are optional in our studio including in the lobby, changing rooms, and yoga room. If you are experiencing any cold or flu like symptoms please refrain from attending class until your symptoms are 100% clear.
-
Yes, please! Even if you’ve pre-registered, be sure to check in at the front desk with one of our friendly staff members before settling into the room.
-
Yes to both! We have cubbies, lockers and hooks for you to store your belongings during class as well as a locker room to change in. Cell phones, bags, purses, and any other personal items aren’t allowed in the yoga room, so please leave those with your belongings outside of the yoga room.
Please be mindful with any valuables you bring into the studio. We are not responsible for anything lost or stolen.
-
Nope! All classes are practiced barefoot. Please remove your shoes once you enter the studio as we like to keep it barefoot friendly.
-
Place your mat on the floor centered in between the marked lines to create rows. Lay your towel down over your mat, and it can remain there during class.
-
Listen to your body and be safe. While some discomfort is normal and somewhat expected during any exercise sharp or severe pain is not. These are signals to slow down and adjust your approach.
Remember it takes time to acclimate to the heat. It’s completely normal to spend some of your first few classes sitting down or lying on the floor. With time and practice, you’ll be amazed at how your body adjusts to the climate and even starts to crave it. Stick with it!
If you need to rest, then take seat. Move with the group at your own pace and give yourself permission to take rest when you need it. It may feel awkward to rest while everyone is moving, but we’ve all done it!
-
Congratulate yourself for making it through your first hot yoga class - it’s not easy! Be patient with yourself, it usually takes two to three classes to aclimate to the heat and learn the flow of our hot classes.
Recharge. Replenish your body and continue to hydrate throughout the rest of the day. Include the proper electrolytes, salt, and minerals for your body and needs. We have coconut water and electrolyte packs available at the front desk for purchase.
Take your time. Give your body time to acclimate to the shift in temperature outside of the hot room. Feel free to sit for a few minutes in the lobby to cool down.
Ask questions. Let us know it’s your first class so we can support your experience. Connect with your fellow yogis and find out why they love hot yoga. Ask them about their first class, everyone has a great story about their first class experience!
Schedule your next class, especially if you’re feeling sore. It’s normal to feel sore after class, we find movement to be helpful!
